About Becki, Kimberly and Rachel
Our story began in 2008 when we volunteered with an organization offering help and hope to sex workers in East Asia. Our hearts broke as we developed friendships with the women in the brothels near our home. The more we learned, the more we desired to be involved in the work of anti-trafficking for sexual exploitation. After much prayer, we decided to pursue work in Cambodia, a country infamous for child sex trafficking.
Our US-based sending organization is International Outreach Ministries. In Cambodia, we are partnered with Agape International Missions (AIM). AIM is a Christian organization that fights child sex trafficking and seeks to restore hope to victims. We are working seven miles outside of Phnom Penh in a village called Svay Pak. AIM has been working in Svay Pak since 2005, planting churches, establishing a medical clinic, reaching out to pimps, traffickers, and parents, and rescuing children being sold for sex.
In 2011, AIM opened a school in Svay Pak. In a culture and community that routinely exploits children, providing a quality education is a way to demonstrate that children have value. AIM's Cambodian church in Svay Pak is a partner with the school and is heavily involved in transforming this community with the power of the Gospel.
Our main jobs are to oversee the development of the school, train the Cambodian teachers and care for the staff and children. In a beautiful new school facility, we have 114 Cambodian staff members, and over 500 students!
The stories we hear and the things we learn break our hearts and motivate us to pursue God’s grace and peace for the people of Cambodia.
